Strokes Gained is the only stat that tells you exactly where shots are being lost or gained relative to a scratch-handicap baseline. Every number here comes directly from Arccos Gen 4 Smart Sensors tracked in real competition, not practice rounds. Arccos tracking started May 16, 2026.

Takeaway: Putting was a new season-best at +0.5, carried by lights-out play inside 10 feet (19 putts, +2.1 SG). Approach was the real cost at −2.2 — the second-worst approach round of the season behind Monterey, driven by 50–100 yard wedge shots and any approach out of the rough. Two 3-putts from 10–25 feet knocked the putting number down from what it could have been. Same −4.2 total as San Juan Hills, completely different cause: that one was a driving collapse, this one was an approach-and-short-game leak with the putter picking up the slack.

Takeaway: Worst driving round of the season at −3.9 — the right-miss penalty pattern in full effect on a course that punishes offline tee balls. Approach was neutral at 0.0 (scratch baseline). Putter held steady (+0.3) and kept the round from completely falling apart. The −4.2 overall came almost entirely off the tee.

Takeaway: Best driving round of the season (+0.6) and the putter contributed — but short game gave back 2.0 shots. 33% up-and-down rate on 0–25 yard chips was the culprit. Tee-to-green solid; scoring broke down inside 50 yards.

Takeaway: The outlier round — and the data makes it clear why. Driving and approach were both manageable; the 83 came almost entirely from the putter at −6.9. 40 total putts. Lost 3.7 strokes on putts inside 10 feet. Missed the cut by 6. This was a putting collapse, not a ball-striking collapse — which is both useful and painful to know.

Takeaway: First Arccos-tracked round of the season. Approach cost nearly 3 shots against scratch — the under-clubbing/short-miss pattern Arccos has flagged consistently. Short game and putting both positive, which kept this at 75. The approach data here directly led to the one-club-more adjustment that produced the career-low 67 at Coronado a few weeks later.

Methodology & Scope

All data sourced from Arccos Gen 4 Smart Sensors + Link Pro, processed automatically via the Arccos platform. Strokes Gained benchmarks are calculated against a scratch (0 handicap) baseline — not the PGA Tour average. Arccos tracking started May 16, 2026; earlier 2026 SCGA rounds are not included.

All individual stroke-play rounds are included regardless of SCGA event type — One Day Series and qualifying events both count. Two-man and alternate-shot formats (Scramble, Chapman, Four-Ball) are excluded because partner-play distorts individual SG attribution — this is also why Pala Mesa (Net Team Chapman, Jul 13) does not appear here despite being a completed 2026 event: alternate-shot play makes it impossible to attribute individual strokes gained. Net Stableford rounds are included when shot-by-shot data was captured; the scoring format does not affect SG calculation.
